"mumms was born out of motherhood, community, and a refusal to accept that women should simply put up with it."

👋
The idea for mumms started long before I became a mother myself. I watched my friends lose confidence as they struggled with hair loss - some after having babies, others during perimenopause, and my mum and her friends through menopause. It was heartbreaking to see, and even more shocking to realize that there wasn’t a single haircare solution made for women experiencing these hormonal changes.

With my background in haircare product development and marketing, I knew I had the tools - along with connections in the science world, to at least start looking for answers.
What began as research for the women around me soon became deeply personal. After having my first baby, in between all the sleepless nights, messy days, and magical moments of motherhood, I noticed my own hair starting to fall.
Suddenly, I wasn’t just creating for others, I was creating for myself too. Every test, every formula, every trial became that much more important because I was living the very problem I was trying to solve.

Over the years, I connected with other mums and women navigating different hormonal stages - postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause- as well as those experiencing stress-related hair loss, some of whom weren’t even mothers. Together, we tested, refined, and reimagined what hair and scalp care could be.
It took five years of persistence, setbacks, and countless iterations, but eventually we found it - a targeted blend of ingredients that not only nourishes the scalp but also penetrates deeper, reaching the dermal layer for real, lasting results.
I am excited to finally share mumms with you,
Maddy x
